Your Roku account is the my.roku.com login that manages payment methods, linked devices, channels, and purchase history. It is separate from the physical Roku remote or TV device.
Does this affect you?
Use this if you cannot sign into my.roku.com or the Roku mobile app because you forgot the password or cannot find the account email.
Reset your password at my.roku.com
This works from any computer or phone browser.
- Go to my.roku.com.
- Choose Forgot password below the sign-in fields.
- Enter the email address associated with the Roku account.
- Open Roku’s reset email when it arrives.
- Click the reset link and create a new password.
- Return to my.roku.com or the Roku app and sign in with the new password.
Reset from the Roku mobile app
The app sends you through the same email reset flow.
- Open the Roku mobile app.
- Tap Forgot Password on the sign-in screen.
- Enter the account email address.
- Open the reset email on the phone.
- Use the link to create a new password.
- Return to the Roku app and sign in.
More control
Check spam and possible emails
Roku reset emails can land in spam or promotions. Search for Roku and wait a few minutes before requesting another reset. If you do not know the email, try addresses you use for streaming services.
Lost email requires support
If the email account itself is gone, self-service reset cannot complete. Contact Roku Support through support.roku.com so they can review account ownership.
Device reset is separate
Forgetting the Roku account password does not break the remote. If your real goal is to unlink or factory-reset a device, use Settings > System > Advanced system settings on the Roku device.
