Most Wyze Cams save motion or sound clips by default. Continuous recording keeps an unbroken timeline so you can review what happened between motion events.
These steps apply to Wyze Cam v2, v3, v4, Pan, and OG models using the Wyze app on iOS or Android.

Use this if you need nonstop recording instead of short triggered clips. You can do it locally with a microSD card or through a compatible paid cloud plan.
Set up free local continuous recording
Local recording stores video on a card inside the camera and does not require a subscription.
- Insert a compatible microSD card into the camera.
- Use a Class 10 or better card.
- Check your model’s maximum card size; newer models may support larger cards than older v1 or v2 cameras.
- Open the Wyze app.
- Select the camera.
- Tap the gear icon.
- Open Advanced Settings.
- Tap Local Storage or SD Card.
- Under Recording, choose Continuous Recording instead of Event Recording.
The camera records nonstop and overwrites the oldest footage automatically when the card fills. View footage from the Playback tab on the camera live-view screen.
Set up cloud continuous recording
Use cloud continuous recording if you want footage stored away from the camera and card.
- Open the Wyze app.
- Tap Account.
- Open Services.
- Review plans that include cloud continuous recording.
- Choose the plan that fits your cameras.
- Assign the subscription to the correct camera.
- Return to camera settings.
- Confirm continuous cloud recording is enabled if the app requires a toggle.
Wyze plan names, prices, and included features can change. Standard event plans are not always the same as 24/7 cloud recording, so read the current plan screen before subscribing.
Manage storage and reliability
Continuous recording fills storage quickly. A 32 GB card may hold only a few days at standard quality, and higher resolution uses space faster. Use the Local Storage menu to check card status or format a card if it becomes corrupted.
For long-term continuous recording, use an endurance-rated card made for security cameras or dashcams. Constant writing wears out basic cards faster.
Local continuous recording and cloud event recording can run together on some setups because they are separate storage paths. For personal NVR systems, Wyze has offered RTSP firmware on some models, but that is a more advanced setup intended for people already running recording servers.
