Most newer Roku TVs and Roku streaming devices include Apple AirPlay, so an iPhone can mirror to Roku without an extra app. You only need AirPlay enabled and both devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
Use mirroring for photos, apps, games, or anything that does not have its own cast button. For videos, an in-app AirPlay button is usually smoother and uses less battery.

Turn on AirPlay on Roku
- Press Home on the Roku remote.
- Open Settings.
- Select Apple AirPlay and HomeKit.
- Set AirPlay to On.
- Confirm the iPhone and Roku are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Many newer Roku devices ship with AirPlay already on, but checking the setting removes guesswork.
Mirror the iPhone screen
- Open Control Center on the iPhone.
- Tap Screen Mirroring.
- Choose your Roku TV or Roku device from the list.
- If a four-digit code appears on the TV, enter it on the iPhone.
- Wait for the iPhone screen to appear on the TV.
To stop mirroring, return to Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, and choose Stop Mirroring.
Use AirPlay inside apps when possible
Apps such as Photos, YouTube, and Apple TV often include their own AirPlay button. That sends just the video or photo to Roku rather than mirroring the entire iPhone screen. It usually looks cleaner and keeps the phone battery from draining as quickly.
Fix connection and performance problems
AirPlay will not work across separate networks. Make sure neither device is on a guest Wi-Fi network, mobile hotspot, or isolated router band that cannot see the other device.
Mirroring sends a live feed of the iPhone display, so it needs stronger Wi-Fi than ordinary video playback. Move closer to the router, reduce other streaming traffic, or restart the router if the picture stutters or drops.
