Brother iPrint&Scan is Brother free mobile app for printing and scanning from iPhone and Android. It lets you print photos, documents, and cloud files from your phone, and it can scan from a Brother all-in-one directly into your phone storage or sharing apps.

Use this guide if you want to set up Brother iPrint&Scan for the first time, print from your phone, scan to your phone, or fix the app when it cannot find the printer.
Install the app and connect your printer
This is a one-time setup as long as the phone and printer stay on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Make sure the Brother printer is already connected to Wi-Fi. Check for a Wi-Fi icon or network status on the printer screen.
- Download Brother iPrint&Scan from the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android.
- Open the app while your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Wait for automatic detection. If the printer does not appear, tap the printer icon or Select your machine, then search again.
- Tap the printer when it appears so the app remembers it.
Print from your phone
The app can print photos, local files, and supported cloud documents.
- Open Brother iPrint&Scan and tap Print.
- Choose the source, such as Photos, Files, or a connected cloud service.
- Select the item, then adjust paper size, color, black-and-white mode, number of copies, and other available settings.
- Tap Print and wait for the job to send over Wi-Fi.
Scan from your phone
If your Brother model includes a scanner, the phone can receive the scan without a computer.
- Place the document on the scanner glass or in the automatic document feeder in the correct direction for your model.
- Open the app and tap Scan.
- Choose a scan type and output format. Use PDF for documents and JPEG for photos.
- Start the scan, then save the result to Photos or Files, or share it through email, messages, or cloud storage.
More control
Printer not found
Confirm the phone and printer are on the same non-guest network. Also check that printer Wi-Fi has not been turned off from the printer control panel.
Use Wi-Fi Direct when the router is the problem
Many Brother all-in-ones support Wi-Fi Direct, which lets the phone connect directly to the printer temporary Wi-Fi network. Look for Wi-Fi Direct in the printer network menu, then connect from the phone Wi-Fi list.
Older models may use another app
Some older Brother printers rely on legacy mobile apps or limited feature support. Search the exact model on Brother Support if the current app never detects it.
