Appeal from inside the app
This is the main route Uber provides for account review.
- Open the Uber app and read the deactivation notice.
- Tap Appeal, Get Help, or the support option shown on the notice.
- Read the stated reason carefully before writing the appeal. Address that reason directly.
- Write a short factual explanation of what happened from your side.
- Attach supporting proof if you have it, such as screenshots, trip history, receipts, message timestamps, or a police report for a false accusation.
- Submit the appeal and note the date.
- Track driver and delivery appeals in the Review Center when available. Riders may receive updates through email.
More control
Do not submit duplicates
A second appeal while the first is pending does not speed review and can make the case harder to track. Most driver and delivery appeals are expected to receive a decision within about seven business days, though some take longer.
Prepare before writing
Gather trip records, screenshots, timestamps, and documents before submitting. A rushed appeal with no evidence is easier to deny.
Inactive driver accounts are different
Driver accounts may be deactivated after long inactivity, such as around 90 days without going online. Reactivation is usually more straightforward than a policy or safety appeal, but it still goes through Uber’s app process.
Safety cases may take longer
Rider or driver deactivations tied to safety reports often go through Uber’s Safety team rather than a general queue. Expect more verification and a longer review.
Local review rules can matter
Some cities and regions have or are considering independent deactivation review rules for drivers. If Uber denies the appeal and you believe the decision is wrong, check whether local protections apply in your area.
