Field Scenario
A support technician receives an urgent-sounding email claiming to be from a software vendor, requesting immediate login credential verification through a link.
What You Actually Do
- Recognize the urgency pressure and credential request as classic phishing red flags
- Avoid clicking the link, even just to “check” whether it’s legitimate
- Verify through an independent, known channel rather than the email itself
- Report the suspected phishing attempt through appropriate channels
