Microsoft Edge blocks pop-up windows by default because most pop-ups are unwanted ads. When a trusted site needs a pop-up for a print view, invoice, payment page, calendar, or login step, add a site exception instead of disabling protection everywhere.

Use this for Microsoft Edge on Windows or Mac when a real site feature will not open because Edge blocks pop-ups or redirects.
Allow pop-ups right when Edge blocks one
This works best when the pop-up has just been blocked.
- Look in the address bar for the blocked pop-up icon.
- Click the icon.
- Choose Always allow pop-ups and redirects from the current site.
- Refresh the page or repeat the action that should open the pop-up.
Allow pop-ups through Edge settings
Use this when the address bar icon is gone or you want to prepare the exception in advance.
- Click the three-dot Settings and more menu.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Cookies and site permissions.
- Open Pop-ups and redirects.
- Next to Allow, click Add.
- Enter the site address, such as https://example.com, and click Add.
More control
Do not turn off the blocker for every site
The top toggle can allow pop-ups broadly, but that is rarely worth it. Keeping Blocked recommended on and adding individual exceptions gives you the site feature without reopening the door to nuisance windows.
Remove an allowed site
Go back to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Pop-ups and redirects, find the site under Allow, click the three-dot menu, and remove it.
Work and school devices may be locked
On managed computers, Edge pop-up settings can be controlled by administrator policy. If the setting is grayed out, ask IT for an exception for the required site.
