Ring Shared Users let family members, roommates, or trusted helpers use Ring devices from their own Ring login. You do not need to share your password or account billing access.
These steps apply to Ring doorbells, cameras, and Ring Alarm systems managed from the Ring app on iPhone or Android.

Use this if someone else needs live view, motion alerts, ring alerts, or two-way talk on your Ring devices. Ring’s Shared Users feature is separate from Amazon household sharing and is managed inside the Ring app.
Add a shared user in the Ring app
The invited person needs their own free Ring account, or they can create one when they accept the invite.
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap the three-line menu in the top-left corner.
- Tap Users.
- Open Shared Users.
- Tap Add Shared User or the + icon.
- Enter the person’s name and email address.
- Choose which Ring devices to share.
- Tap Send Invite.
The person receives an invitation by email or app notification. After they accept, the shared devices appear in their own Ring app and alerts begin according to their settings.
Remove or adjust shared access
Change access right away when someone moves out, changes roles, or no longer needs camera access.
- Open Menu > Users > Shared Users.
- Tap the shared user’s name.
- Toggle specific devices on or off if you only want to change access.
- Tap Remove User if you want to revoke access entirely.
- Confirm the change.
Removal takes effect immediately. The person loses live view and stops receiving alerts for the shared devices.
What shared users can and cannot do
Shared users can normally use live view, receive motion or doorbell alerts, use two-way talk, and view recorded video if your Ring Protect plan and sharing settings allow it.
They cannot change your Ring Protect subscription, billing, account password, motion zones, ownership settings, or add and remove other users. Recorded clip access may begin from the moment they accept the invite rather than exposing your full older library.
Ring Alarm sharing has additional access levels. Use Menu > Ring Alarm > Shared Access to give someone standard alarm access, such as arming, disarming, and viewing sensors, without making them the account owner.
Each shared user controls notification preferences on their own phone. If they mute alerts, it does not mute alerts for you or other users.
