Focus Filters make a Focus mode change what supported apps show, not just which notifications come through. Work Focus can show only work Safari tabs or work mailboxes, while Personal Focus can hide work clutter.
Focus Filters require iOS 16 or later. App support varies by developer and version.

Use this if you want Focus modes to change app content, such as Safari Tab Groups, Mail accounts, Calendar sets, or supported third-party app views.
Add a Filter to an Existing Focus
- Open Settings > Focus.
- Choose the Focus mode to edit, such as Work or Personal.
- Scroll to Focus Filters and tap Add Filter.
- Choose a supported app such as Safari, Mail, Calendar, Messages, or a third-party app that offers filters.
- Configure what should be shown while the Focus is active.
- Tap Add.
- Turn on the Focus and check that the app shows the filtered view.
Create a New Focus with Filters
- Open Settings > Focus and tap the plus button.
- Choose a template or Custom.
- Name it and pick an icon/color if asked.
- Set allowed people, apps, and schedules.
- Add Focus Filters for supported apps.
- Tap Done and activate it from Control Center or its schedule.
Focus Filter Notes
App Support Is Required
If an app does not appear under Add Filter, it may not support Focus Filters. Check the app’s own settings or update it.
Safari Needs Tab Groups
Safari filtering depends on Tab Groups. Create a group in Safari first if there is nothing useful to select.
Confirm Focus Is Active
If filters seem ignored, check Control Center or the status bar to confirm the Focus is actually on and that the filter still appears in Focus settings.
Filters End with the Focus
When the Focus turns off, apps return to their normal unfiltered view.
