eero systems are set up from the eero phone app. There is no traditional browser admin page, default router IP, or web dashboard needed for normal setup.

Set up the first eero
The first unit connects directly to the modem and becomes the gateway.
- Download the eero app and sign in or create an Amazon/eero account.
- Connect the modem to the first eero with Ethernet and plug the eero into power.
- Wait about a minute for the light to indicate setup readiness.
- In the app, choose Set up a new eero network.
- Name the network, choose a Wi-Fi password, and confirm location prompts.
- Let the app detect and configure the eero, then join the new Wi-Fi network.
Add more eero points
Additional units extend the same network name.
- Open the eero app and tap Add eero from the Network area.
- Plug the next eero into power in the room you want to improve.
- Wait for setup readiness, then select it in the app.
- Name the location, such as Bedroom or Basement.
- Repeat for additional units and check connection quality in the app.
More control
Placement matters
Put each eero roughly halfway between the main unit and the dead zone, not at the weakest edge of the signal.
Use Ethernet backhaul when possible
If you can cable eero units together, eero will prefer wired backhaul, which improves speed and reliability in larger homes.
Some extras require eero Secure
Basic management, guest networks, pausing devices, and naming devices are included. Extras such as ad blocking and some reserved-IP features may live under the paid subscription.
Bluetooth helps setup
If the app cannot detect the eero, check the Ethernet cable, modem connection, and Bluetooth on your phone.
