Copilot Vision lets Microsoft Copilot look at visible screen or page content and answer questions about it. You can use it for webpages, products, charts, documents, or app screens without manually describing everything you see.
Does this affect you?
Use this for Copilot Vision in Microsoft Edge on Windows or Mac, and for the Copilot app on supported Copilot+ PCs. Availability depends on region, account, and Windows or Edge version.
Turn on Copilot Vision in Microsoft Edge
This is the common browser version.
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Click the Copilot icon in the toolbar or sidebar.
- Look for the Vision icon, often an eye symbol, near the chat box.
- Click it and confirm that you want to share the current page with Copilot.
- Ask about what is on the page, such as comparing products, explaining a chart, or summarizing an article.
- Click the Vision icon again or close the session when finished.
Edge shows a visible indicator when Vision is active so you can tell when Copilot can see the page.
Use Copilot Vision on a Copilot+ PC
Supported hardware may allow screen-level help beyond a browser tab.
- Open the Copilot app from Start or the taskbar on a Copilot+ PC.
- Look for a Vision or screen-sharing option.
- Choose the screen or app window if the interface asks.
- Confirm the permission prompt.
- Ask your question about the visible content.
More control
Vision is opt-in per session
Copilot Vision is not meant to watch everything in the background. You turn it on for a page, tab, screen, or session, and a visible indicator should show when it is active.
Sensitive sites may be blocked
Microsoft may prevent Vision from viewing banking, healthcare, and other sensitive pages even if you try to enable it.
It starts fresh after you turn it off
Vision does not keep remembering previous tabs or sessions once closed. Each activation begins with what you choose to share then.
Turn it off before presenting
If you are screen-sharing in a meeting, close Copilot Vision first unless you want others to see the panel and responses.
