Canon wireless setup can be handled from the Canon PRINT app or from the printer own screen. The app is usually easiest because it passes your Wi-Fi details from the phone; the manual method is useful when the app cannot find the printer.

Set up Wi-Fi using Canon PRINT
This is the best first path for most phone users.
- Install Canon PRINT from the App Store or Google Play.
- Turn the printer on and place it near the router for setup.
- Open the app and choose Add Printer or Setup.
- Follow the prompts. The phone may briefly connect to a Canon setup network before sending your home Wi-Fi name and password to the printer.
- When the app confirms the printer is connected, print a test page from the app.
- Install the Canon driver on Windows or Mac from Canon Support so the printer also appears in normal print dialogs.
Set up Wi-Fi from the printer screen
Use this when you prefer not to use the app or the app cannot detect the printer.
- Open the printer setup or settings menu, usually marked with a wrench or gear.
- Choose Wireless LAN Setup or Network Settings > Wireless LAN.
- Select Easy setup or the standard setup option.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network name and type the password exactly.
- Wait for the success message or Wi-Fi signal icon.
- If the router has WPS, choose WPS on the printer and press the router WPS button within two minutes.
- Install the computer driver after the printer joins Wi-Fi.
More control
Printer cannot find the network
Move the printer closer to the router and confirm the router broadcasts 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Many Canon printers cannot join 5GHz-only networks.
AirPrint works without Canon PRINT
Once a compatible Canon printer is on the same Wi-Fi as an iPhone, AirPrint can print directly from Photos, Mail, Safari, and many other apps.
Changed Wi-Fi password or router
The printer needs to be connected again with the new network name or password. Repeat the app or control-panel setup.
