Clean but wet dishes are usually caused by missing rinse aid, air-dry settings, plastic items that cool too quickly, poor loading, or trapped steam. A failed heater is possible but is not the first thing to suspect.
This applies to Frigidaire dishwashers and similar drying systems on LG, KitchenAid, Kenmore, Whirlpool, and other brands.

Use this if dishes finish clean but damp, especially if plastic containers stay dripping wet while glass and ceramic dishes are closer to dry.
Refill rinse aid and enable heated dry
- Open the dishwasher door.
- Find the rinse aid dispenser near the detergent cup.
- Fill it if the level window is low or empty.
- Check cycle options for Heated Dry, Sani Rinse, Extra Dry, or similar.
- Turn the drying option on and run a normal cycle.
Rinse aid helps water sheet off dishes instead of forming beads. Plastic needs this help most because it does not retain heat like glass or ceramic.
Load plastic and hollow items differently
- Place cups, bowls, and containers angled downward on the top rack.
- Avoid flat surfaces where water can pool.
- Leave space between items for steam and hot air to move.
- Do not overload the top rack.
- After the cycle, crack the door open for 15 to 20 minutes before unloading.
Check for vent or heater problems
Many Frigidaire models release steam through a vent or small vent fan near the end of the cycle. If that vent is stuck closed or greasy, moisture stays trapped in the tub.
If rinse aid is full, heated dry is on, loading is reasonable, and every load stays wet, the vent fan, vent door, or heated-dry element may need testing. Do not test the heating element with the dishwasher running and panels open; call service for that check.
