Echo Dot with Clock adds a small LED display to the front of a regular Echo Dot. It can show time, timers, alarms, temperature, and status information depending on settings.
These steps apply to Echo Dot with Clock 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation models managed in the Alexa app.

Use this if the clock is too bright, too dim, not showing what you expect, or if you want to use the Echo Dot as a bedside alarm clock.
Adjust display brightness and info
- Open the Alexa app.
- Tap Devices.
- Tap Echo & Alexa.
- Select the Echo Dot with Clock.
- Tap the gear icon.
- Open Display.
- Adjust Brightness manually or enable Adaptive Brightness.
- Open Clock Display Info if available.
- Choose extra info such as temperature, timers, or Do Not Disturb status.
Changes apply immediately. Adaptive Brightness is useful on a nightstand because it dims the LED display as the room gets darker.
Use it as an alarm clock
- Say Alexa, set an alarm for 7 AM.
- Or open the Alexa app.
- Tap More > Alarms & Timers.
- Tap + to add an alarm.
- Open the alarm to set repeat days.
- Choose an alarm sound or music option if available.
- Say Alexa, snooze or tap the top of the device to snooze.
- Say Alexa, stop or tap again to stop the alarm.
The time stays visible overnight without needing a voice command, unless you lower or turn off the display behavior through settings or routines.
Extra display behavior
If Adaptive Brightness is not enough, create an Alexa routine that lowers display brightness at bedtime and raises it in the morning. Tap the top of the Dot to cycle some extra info, such as temperature or an active timer, when supported.
A reddish or very dim look at low brightness is normal for the LED matrix. If the display is fully off, check brightness, power, and whether Do Not Disturb or display settings are hiding information. There is no single universal clock-off switch on every model, so use the lowest brightness or a routine for a dark room.
