Many Pioneer smart TVs sold in the US use Roku software, so power issues can come from ordinary power problems, a frozen Roku interface, or a remote that is not communicating.
Start with the standby light. It tells you whether the TV is receiving power before you chase remote or software fixes.

Use this if the Pioneer TV shows no logo, no sound, no click, and no response when you press Power.
Check standby light and power-cycle
- Look for the standby light near the bottom of the screen.
- If it is off, check outlet and cable power first.
- If it is on, the TV has power but may not be starting.
- Plug the TV directly into a wall outlet.
- Unplug the TV from the wall.
- Hold the physical TV power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
- Wait 60 seconds, plug it back in, and test with the TV’s own power button.
This clears many unresponsive TVs after outages or software freezes.
Check the Roku remote
- Replace the remote batteries.
- Point the remote at the TV and press a button.
- If nothing happens, remove the batteries for 10 seconds and reinstall them.
- Use the physical button on the TV to test power without the remote.
If the TV turns on from the physical button but not from the remote, focus on batteries, pairing, or replacing the remote.
Check outlet, surge protector, and cable
- Test the outlet with another device.
- Check a power strip or surge protector for a tripped switch.
- Bypass the strip and plug the TV straight into the wall.
- Try a compatible spare power cable if available.
If it still will not start
If the TV eventually comes back after several minutes with the standby light on, update Roku software from Settings > System > System Update once the TV responds.
Some Pioneer TVs blink the standby light in a repeating pattern when hardware fails. Note the number of blinks and the pause pattern before contacting support.
If the standby light stays off with a working outlet and cable, and the power-button discharge does nothing, the internal power supply board may have failed. On an older TV, replacement is often more cost-effective than repair.
