Reset your password on Rockstar’s sign-in page
Use a browser rather than the game launcher if possible.
- Go to signin.rockstargames.com/forgotten-password or use Forgot your password from the Rockstar sign-in page.
- Enter the email address linked to the account.
- Open the reset email from Rockstar Games.
- Use the link to create and confirm a new password.
- Sign in on the Rockstar Games website, Rockstar Games Launcher, or in-game with the new password.
If you suspect the account was compromised
Do more than a basic reset.
- Reset the password first so you can review account details.
- Open Rockstar account settings and confirm the email and recovery details are yours.
- Check purchase history for transactions you did not make.
- Enable two-step verification if it is not already on.
- Contact Rockstar Support if you see unauthorized purchases, changed details, or cannot recover the account online.

Rockstar reset messages can land in spam or promotions. If you are unsure which email is tied to the account, search old inboxes for Rockstar receipts or Social Club messages.
Console accounts are linked but separate
Your PlayStation or Xbox account can be linked to Rockstar, but it has its own password and security settings. Reset both if you suspect a broader takeover.
Lost email requires proof
If the email on file is gone, contact Rockstar Support and prepare purchase history, linked platform details, character names, crew names, or other ownership evidence.
