A GOG account holds your DRM-free game library and signs into both GOG.com and GOG Galaxy. If you still control the email, password reset is straightforward.
Does this affect you?
Use this for GOG.com accounts and the GOG Galaxy app on Windows or macOS when you forgot the password or cannot complete sign-in.
Reset your password at GOG.com
Use any browser.
- Go to GOG.com.
- Select the account icon and choose Sign in.
- Click Reset password.
- Enter the email address linked to the GOG account.
- Open the reset email from GOG.
- Use the link to create and confirm a new password.
- Sign in on GOG.com and in GOG Galaxy with the new password.
Reset from inside GOG Galaxy
The desktop app opens the same web reset flow.
- On the GOG Galaxy sign-in screen, choose Reset password.
- Enter the account email in the browser page that opens.
- Follow the reset-link steps.
- Return to GOG Galaxy and sign in with the new password.
More control
Check email carefully
Search spam or promotions for GOG and wait a few minutes before requesting another email. The reset form may not reveal whether an email is registered, so try likely gaming-purchase addresses.
Two-step verification may still be required
If two-step verification is enabled, you need the authenticator code after resetting the password. If the authenticator is gone, contact GOG Support for manual identity verification.
Lost email needs support
If the registered email is no longer accessible, self-service reset cannot work. Be ready to prove ownership with order numbers, purchase dates, or games in the library.
