Spotify account closure is not inside the normal app settings. You close the account from Spotify’s website, and the request must be confirmed through email before it is final.

Use this for free and Premium Spotify accounts when you want playlists, listening history, liked songs, and account data removed rather than only canceling Premium.
Close your account through Spotify’s account page
Use a browser, not the mobile app.
- Go to spotify.com/account/overview and sign in.
- Find and select Close account.
- Review Spotify’s summary of what will be lost, including playlists, saved music, followers, and listening history.
- Confirm your password if asked.
- Choose Close my account.
- Open Spotify’s confirmation email and click the link inside.
- The account is not closed until the email confirmation is completed.
More control
Cancel Premium only if that is the goal
If you only want to stop paying, open Manage your plan and choose Cancel subscription. The account, playlists, and listening history stay intact and the account drops to the free tier.
Request your data before closing
Open spotify.com/account/privacy and request Download your data if you want a record of playlists, streaming history, or account details. Spotify says preparation can take up to 30 days.
Watch outside billing
If Premium is billed through Apple or Google Play, cancel it in those subscription settings too. Spotify’s website may not stop provider-managed billing.
