Safari on iPhone supports extensions, but they work differently than desktop browser add-ons. You install a normal App Store app first, then enable its Safari extension separately in Settings before it can block ads, fill passwords, translate pages, or change Safari behavior.

Use this for iPhone running iOS 15 or later when you want to add, enable, disable, or manage Safari extensions such as ad blockers, password managers, coupon tools, translators, or content blockers.
Find and install a Safari extension
The App Store install and Safari enable steps are separate.
- Open the App Store.
- Search for the extension or feature you want, such as Safari ad blocker or password manager.
- Check the app description for Safari extension support.
- Install the app with Get or the purchase button.
- Open Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions.
- Tap the extension name and turn it on.
- Choose Allow Once, Ask Every Time, or Always Allow if Safari asks for website access permission.
Installing the app only makes the extension available. It will not affect Safari until you turn it on in Safari extension settings.
Turn an extension on or off per website
Per-site control is useful when an ad blocker, password manager, or content blocker breaks one page.
- Open Safari and visit the website.
- Tap the puzzle-piece icon, or tap Aa and open extension controls if your Safari version uses that menu.
- Select the extension and change its status for that site.
- For broader permissions, open Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions, tap the extension, and review All Websites and individual website permissions.

In Safari, open the extension menu and choose Manage Extensions to toggle extensions quickly or adjust which ones are easiest to reach.
Do not miss the enable step
The most common setup mistake is installing the app but never enabling the extension. Always finish setup under Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions.
Troubleshoot broken pages
If a site stops loading correctly after adding extensions, turn extensions off one at a time. Content blockers and ad blockers are frequent causes because they change what the page can load.
Uninstall by deleting the app
Each iPhone Safari extension lives inside its App Store app. Deleting that app removes the extension too; there is no separate extension uninstall step inside Safari.
