How to Use the My Spectrum App to Manage Your Wi-Fi

My Spectrum app Wi-Fi management screen

The My Spectrum app manages your Spectrum account and, when you use Spectrum-provided router equipment, many day-to-day Wi-Fi settings. It can replace logging into the router page for common tasks.

Does this affect you?

Use this if you have Spectrum internet with a Spectrum router or modem/router combo. If you use your own router, the app may still show account information but not your router Wi-Fi settings.

Download and sign in

Set this up once and the app will remember your account.

  1. Install My Spectrum from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Sign in with the Spectrum username and password you use at spectrum.net.
  3. Let the app confirm the account and equipment at your address.
  4. Open Services or Internet to find Wi-Fi management if your router is Spectrum-provided.
  5. If Wi-Fi controls are missing and you use your own router, manage Wi-Fi from that router admin page instead.

Manage Wi-Fi from the app

These are the common tools people use most.

  • Change Wi-Fi name or password: go to Services > Internet > Manage WiFi and edit Network Name or Password. Devices must reconnect afterward.
  • See connected devices: open Manage WiFi to view and rename devices.
  • Restart equipment: use Restart Equipment under Services > Internet to reboot without unplugging.
  • Check outages: look for account outage alerts before troubleshooting at home.
  • Pay bills: use the Billing tab for statements, payments, and autopay.

More control

Advanced WiFi may be a plan feature

Newer Spectrum routers can include Advanced WiFi security and content filtering under Manage WiFi > Advanced WiFi. It may be a paid add-on on some plans.

Use guest Wi-Fi for visitors

Look for Guest Network under Manage WiFi to create a separate name and password for guests.

Fix sign-in confusion

Use the Spectrum username tied to the current account. If you recently switched providers or accounts, reset the password through spectrum.net.

Third-party routers are managed elsewhere

The app cannot rename or pause devices on your own router. Use that router address, often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
