Cox Panoramic Wifi is a combined modem/router system managed mostly through the Cox app. That makes setup different from routers that rely mainly on a browser admin page.
Does this affect you?
Use this if you have a Cox Panoramic Wifi gateway or Panoramic Wifi Pods and need to activate the gateway, create Wi-Fi, or extend coverage.
Set up the Panoramic Wifi gateway
The app cannot activate the gateway until the hardware is connected.
- Connect the coaxial cable from the wall to the gateway coax input.
- Plug the gateway into power.
- Wait 5 to 10 minutes for the front light to turn solid white or show the online pattern for the model.
- Install the Panoramic Wifi app and sign in with your Cox account.
- Follow prompts to activate service, name the Wi-Fi network, and set a password.
- Connect devices to the new Wi-Fi details.
Add Panoramic Wifi Pods
Pods extend the same network name as a mesh system.
- Plug a Pod roughly halfway between the gateway and weak area, not at the far edge of coverage.
- Open the app, go to Equipment, and choose Add a Pod.
- Follow prompts until the app discovers and adds the Pod.
- Name the Pod by location.
- Repeat for additional Pods and use the app coverage map to judge placement.
More control
The browser page is limited
Panoramic gateways may respond at 10.0.0.1, but the app offers more useful settings than the basic web page.
Guest Wi-Fi and parental controls live in the app
Pausing devices, setting time limits, and guest network setup are handled through the Panoramic Wifi app.
Move Pods closer for setup
If a Pod will not pair, set it up closer to the gateway first, then move it to the intended room after it joins the mesh.
