What Is Samsung Pass and How to Use It

Samsung Pass password manager illustration

Samsung Pass is Samsung password and identity manager for Galaxy phones. It saves logins, fills them with fingerprint, face, or PIN verification, and on newer phones may be accessed through Samsung Wallet.

These steps apply to Galaxy phones with Samsung Pass. Samsung has been moving some Samsung Pass features into Samsung Wallet, so menus can differ by One UI version.

Does This Affect You?

Use this if you keep seeing Samsung Pass save prompts, want to use autofill, or cannot find your saved passwords after a software update.

Set Up Samsung Pass

  1. Open Settings > Security and privacy > Samsung Pass.
  2. On some phones, check Accounts and backup or Samsung Wallet instead.
  3. Sign in with your Samsung account.
  4. Set up fingerprint, face recognition, or a backup PIN.
  5. Finish setup and allow Samsung Pass to offer save prompts.

Use Saved Passwords

  1. Open an app or website login screen.
  2. Tap the username or password field.
  3. Tap the Samsung Pass prompt above the keyboard.
  4. Verify with fingerprint, face, or PIN.
  5. Let Samsung Pass fill the saved login.

View, Edit, or Delete Logins

Open Samsung Pass settings and go to Passwords. Tap an entry to view, edit, or delete it. Use the trash option for logins you no longer want saved.

It Cannot Fill What It Never Saved

If a login does not autofill, sign in manually once and accept the save prompt. After that, Samsung Pass should recognize it.

Wallet Migration

On newer Galaxy phones, saved passwords, passkeys, and IDs may appear inside Samsung Wallet rather than a separate Samsung Pass app. Follow Samsung migration prompts when they appear.

Choose the Autofill Service

On One UI versions with Passwords, passkeys, and autofill settings, make sure Samsung Pass is selected if Google or another password manager took over autofill.
