When other devices connect but one phone refuses, the issue is usually on that phone or a router rule aimed at it. Start by clearing the saved connection, then move deeper only if needed.

Use this if an iPhone or Android phone keeps asking for the password, connects and drops, cannot see the network, or fails while other devices use the same Wi-Fi normally.
Forget the network and reconnect
This clears a corrupted saved Wi-Fi profile.
- iPhone: open Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the info button beside the network, choose Forget This Network, confirm, then join again and re-enter the password.
- Android: open Settings > Network & internet > Internet or Wi-Fi, tap the gear beside the network, choose Forget, then reconnect from the list.
If the network is hidden or has an unusual name, type the SSID exactly. Wi-Fi names are case-sensitive too.
Restart radios and the phone
Airplane Mode resets the wireless radios without erasing anything.
- Turn on Airplane Mode and wait about 10 seconds.
- Turn Airplane Mode off and see whether Wi-Fi reconnects.
- If it does not, fully restart the phone.
- Try joining the network again after startup.
Reset network settings
Use this after forgetting the network and restarting fail. It removes all saved Wi-Fi networks.
- iPhone: open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings, then enter the passcode.
- Android: open Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth, then confirm with PIN or password if asked.
More control
Private MAC addresses can confuse router rules
If the router uses allow-lists or parental controls, the phone randomized MAC may not match. On iPhone, check Settings > Wi-Fi > info button > Private Wi-Fi Address. Android lists it under Privacy or MAC randomization for the network.
Check router limits and blocks
If the phone connects elsewhere but not at home, look for device limits, MAC filters, access controls, or parental-control profiles in the router.
Try Wi-Fi Calling as a test
Rarely, carrier Wi-Fi Calling settings can interfere. Temporarily turn Wi-Fi Calling off and test again if every normal fix fails.
