Copilot Pages turns a Copilot response into a document-like workspace you can keep editing. Instead of leaving a useful answer buried in a chat thread, you can place it on a Page, refine it, and share it with other people.

Use this if you see Pages in Microsoft Copilot on the web, in the Copilot app, or with Microsoft 365 Copilot and are not sure whether it is a document, a chat feature, or part of Word.
What Pages are actually for
Pages are for AI output you want to keep working on.
- A normal Copilot chat is best for quick questions and short answers. It becomes awkward when the answer turns into a proposal, plan, research summary, or checklist you want to edit later.
- A Page moves Copilot output into an editable canvas where you can click into text, rearrange content, rewrite sections, and continue improving the draft.
- Pages work well for project proposals, event plans, meeting follow-ups, brainstormed options, research notes, and other documents that evolve over time.
- Because a Page behaves like a shared workspace, you can invite others to view or edit it depending on the permissions available in your account.
Create and edit your first Page
You can start from a Copilot response or build one as you work.
- Open copilot.microsoft.com or the Copilot app and sign in.
- Start a chat or open an existing conversation. For example, ask Copilot to draft an event plan, research outline, or project proposal.
- Look near the response for the Pages option and select it to place that content into a new Page.
- Edit the text directly on the Page, the way you would in a lightweight document.
- Highlight a specific section and use Ask Copilot if you want only that part rewritten, shortened, expanded, or reorganized.
- Use Share when you want someone else to review or contribute, or export the Page if you need a separate file.
More control
Use chat for answers and Pages for drafts
A chat is closer to a conversation. A Page is closer to a shared document. If the result will be revised, sent, presented, or handed to someone else, a Page is usually the better place for it.
Pages are lighter than Word
Copilot in Word works inside a full Word document with Word’s formatting tools. Copilot Pages starts directly from the conversation and is quicker for rough shared work, though you can often move the content into Word later if you need heavier formatting.
Features can depend on your plan
Some capabilities, such as richer sharing, Microsoft 365 file integration, tables, images, or work-account collaboration, may be more complete in Microsoft 365 Copilot than in free personal Copilot.
