Chrome can import saved passwords from another browser or a CSV file, then sync them through Google Password Manager. The important safety step is deleting any exported CSV afterward because it is plain text.

Import automatically from another browser
This is easiest when the old browser is on the same computer.
- Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu.
- Go to Settings.
- Open You and Google.
- Choose Import bookmarks and settings.
- Select the browser to import from, such as Safari, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.
- Make sure Saved passwords is checked. Uncheck anything else you do not want.
- Click Import and wait for Chrome to finish.
Import from a CSV file
Use this when another password manager exported your logins.
- In Chrome, open Settings > Autofill and passwords > Google Password Manager, or type chrome://password-manager/settings.
- Open Settings in Password Manager.
- Find the Export and import passwords section and choose Import.
- Select the CSV file. Chrome expects columns such as url, username, and password.
- Check Google Password Manager afterward to confirm the logins imported correctly.
- Delete the CSV file after confirming import because it stores passwords as readable text.
Export or view Chrome passwords
Export only when you are moving to another manager.
- Go to chrome://password-manager/settings.
- Choose Export passwords under Export and import passwords.
- Confirm with your device password, Windows Hello, fingerprint, or Touch ID.
- After using the exported CSV, delete it securely.
- To view one password, open chrome://password-manager/passwords, select the site, and use the eye icon after device authentication.

They sync with Chrome and Android autofill when you are signed into the same Google Account. You can also manage them at passwords.google.com.

After a large import, run Password Checkup to find weak, reused, or breached passwords and clean them up.
