Microsoft Edge Collections has been removed from current Edge releases. If the Collections button is gone, you cannot create new Collections in the current browser. The practical path is to recover anything still accessible from older versions and move future saved pages into Favorites, OneNote, or another tool.

Use this for Microsoft Edge on Windows or Mac. Microsoft retired Collections during 2026, with new item saving ending around Edge 145 and full removal by Edge 149.
Rescue items from an old Collection if you still have access
Do this before updating any device that still shows Collections.
- Open Edge on a device or profile where the Collections icon still appears.
- Open each Collection and review the saved pages.
- Right-click saved pages and copy their addresses, then paste them into a document, email, or new Favorites folder.
- If your older Edge version still offers Export to Excel or Send to Word from the Collection menu, use it to save the full list at once.
- Repeat for each important Collection before the feature disappears from that browser.
Use Favorites folders instead
Favorites cover the most common Collections use: saving related pages together.
- Open a page you want to save.
- Click the star icon in the address bar, or press Ctrl+D on Windows or Cmd+D on Mac.
- Open the Folder dropdown and choose another folder.
- Create a new folder named for the project, such as Trip to Denver or Kitchen Remodel.
- Save related pages to that same folder.
- Open the Favorites manager with Ctrl+Shift+O to rename, reorder, or move items.
When you are signed into Edge with sync enabled, Favorites appear on other devices using the same Microsoft account.
More control
Use OneNote for notes and mixed media
Collections could hold pages, images, and typed notes together. OneNote is the closest Microsoft replacement for that style of research because it can store links, screenshots, images, and notes on one page and sync them across devices.
Consider read-later or bookmarking services
Dedicated bookmarking tools can offer tags, notes, highlights, and cross-browser access. They may fit better if Collections was central to your research workflow, though advanced features are often paid.
Avoid relying on browser-only storage for long-term archives
Collections joins other Edge features that were later removed, such as Kids Mode and Drop. Export anything important from browser-specific features if losing access would be painful.
Use tab tools for active projects
If you used Collections mainly to tame open tabs, try vertical tabs and tab groups. They organize current work without pretending to be permanent storage.
