Game codes can come from cards, receipts, emails, gifts, bundles, or promotions. Each platform has its own redeem screen, and codes are often tied to a region, account, or expiration date.
This covers PS5, PS4, Xbox consoles, Windows, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

Redeem on PlayStation
- Open PlayStation Store from the console home screen.
- Select your profile icon or the Store menu.
- Choose Redeem Codes.
- Enter the code exactly as printed, including dashes if shown.
- Confirm the redemption.
- Check your library or wallet balance.
You can also redeem through PlayStation’s official redeem page in a browser if typing on a keyboard is easier.
Redeem on Xbox or Windows
- On Xbox, press the Xbox button and open Store.
- Choose Redeem from the Store or profile menu.
- Enter the 25-character code and confirm.
- Or go to microsoft.com/redeem in a browser and sign in with the Microsoft account tied to Xbox.
- On Windows, use the Microsoft Store account menu and choose Redeem a code.
Use the same account where you want the game, credit, or add-on to appear.
Redeem on Nintendo Switch and Steam
On Switch, open Nintendo eShop, select your user icon, choose Redeem Code, enter the 16-character code, and confirm. Games download automatically and eShop credit updates right away.
On Steam, open the desktop app, click Games, choose Activate a Product on Steam, and follow the prompts. For wallet credit, use Steam’s redeem wallet code option from your account page.
If the code does not work
- Check whether the code was already used, especially with used or open-box physical copies.
- Confirm the code region matches your account region.
- Look for an expiration date on promotional or bundle codes.
- On physical cards, scratch gently so you do not damage characters.
- For digital purchases, check the confirmation email and storefront purchase history.
If you are confident the code is unused and valid, contact the platform support team with the receipt or purchase confirmation.
