Firefox blocks pop-up windows by default and usually shows a notification bar when it stops one. If a trusted site needs a pop-up for a receipt, booking calendar, payment window, or login step, allow that site specifically before turning the blocker off everywhere.

Use this for Firefox on Windows, Mac, or Linux when a real site feature needs a pop-up window and Firefox is blocking it.
Allow pop-ups for one site
This keeps protection on for every other site.
- When Firefox blocks the pop-up, look for the notification bar below the address bar.
- Click Options or the icon at the end of the bar.
- Choose Allow pop-ups for the current site.
- Reload the page or repeat the action if the pop-up does not open automatically.
If the notification disappeared, add the site manually from settings.
Turn off the pop-up blocker or manage exceptions
Use this to add an exception later or disable blocking globally.
- Click the Firefox menu button.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to Permissions.
- Click Exceptions beside Block pop-up windows, enter the site address, click Allow, and save changes.
- To disable the blocker for every site, uncheck Block pop-up windows.

Remove an allowed site
Return to Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions > Exceptions beside Block pop-up windows. Select the site and remove it.
Per-site exceptions are usually enough
Firefox makes exceptions easy, so most people do not need to disable pop-up blocking globally. Leaving it off invites more ad windows and scam pages.
Know the difference from scam alerts
A Firefox blocked-pop-up notice is a normal browser message. A page claiming your computer is infected and demanding a phone call is a scam page, not a legitimate browser pop-up setting problem.
