Epson L-series ink tank printers such as the L3210, L4260, and similar models have the usual printer settings plus ink-tank maintenance counters. That means a normal reset and a waste-ink-pad service warning are different problems.

Use this if an Epson L-series printer has blinking lights, refuses to print, or shows a waste ink pad or service-life message. Start with a simple power reset unless the message clearly says the waste ink pads need service.
Do a simple power reset first
This clears many stuck states without changing settings or counters.
- Turn the printer off with its power button so the print head parks correctly.
- Wait about 30 seconds after the lights go out.
- Unplug the power cable from the wall for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn the printer on.
- Let the startup sequence finish before printing or running maintenance.
If the same blinking pattern returns, check Epson support for that specific light pattern before choosing a deeper reset.
Factory-reset the printer settings
Use this when Wi-Fi settings, defaults, or menus are wrong and a power cycle did not help.
- Open Setup from the control panel if your model has a screen.
- Look for Restore Default Settings, Printer Setup, Reset All Settings, or similar wording.
- Confirm the reset. This clears saved Wi-Fi credentials and custom paper or quality defaults.
- Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi and add it again on your computer if needed.
Waste ink pad warning
A waste-ink-pad or service-life message is not the same as a settings error. Epson printers route ink from cleaning cycles into internal absorbent pads, and the printer locks when its service counter reaches the rated limit.

Use authorized service for the permanent fix
The safe fix is to have the pads inspected and replaced or confirmed usable by an Epson service provider, then have the service counter reset with official tools.
Be careful with third-party reset tools
Online WIC-style reset utilities are unofficial and unsupported by Epson. They may affect warranty, require unverified software, and cannot physically confirm whether the ink pads are actually safe to keep using.
Avoid unnecessary head cleaning
Each cleaning cycle uses ink and adds to the waste-ink counter. Run cleaning only when a nozzle check shows missing lines.
