AT&T gateways use either the default Wi-Fi password printed on the device or a custom password set later. You can find or change it from the label, the Smart Home Manager app, or the gateway settings page.

Use this for AT&T Internet or AT&T Fiber gateways when connecting a new device, sharing Wi-Fi with someone, or replacing a weak or exposed password.
Find the current Wi-Fi password
Start with the label, then use the app or gateway page if it has changed.
- Check the white label on the side or bottom of the AT&T gateway. If the password was never changed, the Wi-Fi Password is printed there.
- Open the AT&T Smart Home Manager app from a connected device and tap Wi-Fi to view network details.
- If needed, open 192.168.1.254 in a browser from a connected device.
- Use the Device Access Code from the gateway label to enter the settings page.
- Open Wi-Fi settings to view or manage the network name and password.
Change your Wi-Fi password
Do this when you want a memorable password or need to remove unwanted access.
- Open AT&T Smart Home Manager and sign in.
- Tap Wi-Fi, then select your network.
- Tap Edit beside the password field.
- Enter a new password. Use at least 8 characters; longer with mixed letters and numbers is better.
- Save the change. Every connected device will disconnect and must join again with the new password.
More control
2.4 GHz and 5 GHz may share one password
Many AT&T gateways use one combined Wi-Fi name for both bands. Older setups may show two names, but they usually share the same password unless someone configured them differently.
Turn on guest Wi-Fi for visitors
Smart Home Manager includes Guest Wi-Fi. Use a separate guest password so visitors do not join the same network as shared files, printers, and smart devices.
Plan for screenless devices
Printers, smart TVs, plugs, cameras, and streaming boxes usually need the new password entered manually in their own Wi-Fi settings.
