A Meross garage door controller does not replace the opener motor. It connects to the opener’s accessory terminals and uses a contact sensor to report whether the door is open or closed.
These steps apply to Meross smart garage door opener controllers such as the MSG100 added to an existing garage door opener.

Use this if you want phone or voice control for an existing garage door opener. Because a garage door is heavy and motorized, safety checks matter more than they do for plugs or bulbs.
Safety before wiring
- Unplug the garage door opener from its power outlet before connecting wires.
- Do not rely only on a wall switch.
- Keep the garage door fully open and the doorway clear while installing the sensor.
- Keep people, pets, and objects away during testing.
- After installation, test the opener’s auto-reverse safety sensors near the bottom of the track.
- If the door does not stop and reverse when the beam is blocked, do not use smart control until a technician repairs it.
The accessory terminals are low voltage, but you are still working near a powered motorized door system. If the wiring or opener behavior is unclear, stop and call a garage door technician.
Wire and pair the Meross controller
- With the opener unplugged, locate the accessory terminals used by the wired wall button.
- Connect the Meross controller’s two wires to those terminals according to the included guide.
- Attach the magnetic contact sensor to the top of the door and the matching piece to the frame.
- Position the two sensor pieces close together when the door is fully closed.
- Plug the opener back in.
- Power on the Meross controller.
- Open the Meross app.
- Tap + > Add Device.
- Choose Garage Door Opener.
- Connect it to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Test opening, closing, and status reporting with the garage clear.
If the app reports open when the door is closed, adjust the magnetic sensor alignment. The pieces usually need to sit very close together when the door is shut.
Link assistants and use alerts wisely
Meross can integrate with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home depending on the model. Enable the Meross skill, link the service, or scan the HomeKit code from the app or device if supported.
Most platforms require a confirmation or PIN before moving a garage door by voice. Keep that safety step enabled.
Instead of auto-closing the door on a timer, consider using an alert when the garage has been open too long, then close it manually after checking the area. Before buying, check the Meross compatibility list for your opener brand and model, especially for rolling-code or unusual wiring systems.
