If Netflix fails on a Samsung TV while other apps work, the issue is usually the Netflix app installation, cached app data, or Samsung’s Tizen software compatibility.
These steps apply to Samsung Smart TVs running Tizen, including Crystal UHD, QLED, and Neo QLED models.

Reinstall Netflix on Samsung TV
Samsung TVs do not always provide a simple per-app cache button, so reinstalling is often the cleanest reset.
- Press Home and highlight the Netflix tile.
- Open the app options menu with Down, Select/hold, or the options button depending on the remote.
- Choose Delete or Remove.
- Wait about 10 seconds.
- Open Samsung Apps or Smart Hub Apps.
- Search for Netflix and reinstall it.
- Open Netflix and sign in again.
Deleting the app does not delete your Netflix account or viewing history. It only removes the local TV app files.
Update Samsung TV software
- Open Settings > Support > Software Update.
- Choose Update Now.
- Install any available update and let the TV restart.
- Open Netflix again.
If no update appears, check Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis for Smart Hub reset. That can clear app data across Smart Hub without changing picture settings.

- Write down the exact code on screen.
- Codes such as NW-2-5 usually point to network trouble.
- Codes starting with UI-800 often point to app or device data problems.
- Restart the TV by unplugging it for 30 seconds.

Other Samsung-specific checks
Check Settings > General > System Manager > Language & Region if the TV region recently changed or does not match where you live. App availability and behavior can be region-sensitive.
If Netflix opens but video will not play, test Standard picture mode. On some older models, HDR or game-related picture settings can interact badly with playback.
If the Samsung TV is more than five or six years old and Netflix no longer updates for its Tizen version, a Roku, Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, or Chromecast with Google TV is the most reliable workaround.
