Deleting Snapchat is different from uninstalling the app. Account deletion starts from Snapchat’s website, deactivates the account immediately, and becomes permanent after the waiting period if you do not log back in.

Use this if you want your Snapchat account, username, profile, Memories, and related account data removed rather than only deleting the app from your phone.
Delete your account from a web browser
Snapchat account deletion is not handled inside the mobile app.
- Open a computer or phone browser and go to accounts.snapchat.com.
- Sign in with the Snapchat username and password.
- Open My Account.
- Choose Delete My Account.
- Re-enter the password to confirm.
- Submit the deletion request.
- The account deactivates right away and enters a 30-day hold.
- Do not log back in during those 30 days if you want deletion to become permanent.

Download data first
Before deleting, open accounts.snapchat.com > My Data and request a copy of Memories, chat history, and account details. After the hold ends, that data is not recoverable.
Logging in cancels deletion
If you sign in from the app or website during the 30-day hold, Snapchat restores the account and cancels the deletion request.
Know what disappears right away
The profile becomes hidden during deactivation, and active Snap Streaks or group participation may be disrupted even if you later cancel deletion. If you only want one device signed out, use Log Out in the app instead.
