An Etsy suspension can pause listings, orders, payouts, messages, or the whole shop. The best next step depends on why Etsy suspended the account and whether the issue can be corrected before appeal.
Does this affect you?
Use this if Etsy says your account or shop is suspended, restricted, temporarily disabled, or removed from search.
Find the reason before appealing
The suspension notice usually points to the issue.
- Check the email Etsy sent and any banner inside Shop Manager.
- Look for the category of problem: unpaid bill, identity verification, intellectual property claim, prohibited item, late shipping, buyer complaint, or policy violation.
- Fix anything you can before sending an appeal, such as paying an overdue bill, removing problematic listings, uploading identity documents, or resolving open cases.
- Gather proof such as tracking numbers, supplier documentation, messages, invoices, photos, or screenshots.
Submit an Etsy appeal
Use the official appeal path rather than creating a new shop.
- Go to Etsy’s Appeals Center or the appeal link in the suspension notice.
- Choose the suspended account or shop.
- Explain what happened in a concise, factual way.
- Describe the corrective action you already took and how you will prevent the issue from repeating.
- Attach relevant documentation if the form allows it.
- Submit one strong appeal and wait for review instead of sending repeated duplicate messages.
More control
Do not open a replacement shop
Creating another Etsy account to bypass suspension can be treated as evasion and may hurt the appeal. Work through the original account’s appeal process.
Watch funds and orders
If orders or reserved funds are affected, keep shipping proof, tracking, buyer messages, and payment records. Etsy may hold funds while a suspension or case is reviewed.
Keep documentation organized
Save the suspension email, appeal text, case numbers, invoices, shipping records, and Etsy replies. A clean timeline helps if Etsy asks for more information.
