Paid Gemini plans such as Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra are usually billed through Google One, even though you use them in Gemini. If you subscribed through a phone app store, you may need to cancel through Apple or Google Play instead.
Does this affect you?
Use this if you signed up for Gemini Advanced, Google AI Pro, or Google AI Ultra and want to stop future billing before the next renewal.
Cancel through Google One
Use this if you subscribed on the web or are not sure how you signed up.
- Go to one.google.com and sign in with the Google account that owns the subscription.
- Open Settings or your profile menu, depending on the layout.
- Find Membership details.
- Choose Manage membership.
- Select Cancel membership or Downgrade.
- Confirm the change and note the date Google says paid access ends.
The same general flow works in the Google One mobile app from the profile or membership area.
Cancel through the App Store or Play Store
Use this if the subscription was purchased from a phone.
- iPhone: Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Google One or Gemini, then tap Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Open Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, open Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, select Google One or Gemini, then tap Cancel subscription.
- If you are unsure, check your card statement. A charge from Apple points to App Store billing, Google Play points to Play Store billing, and Google usually points to Google One direct billing.
More control
Cancellation usually stops the next charge
Canceling normally does not refund the current billing period. You keep paid features until the period ends, then drop to the free Gemini tier. Refunds are a separate support request.
Check storage before canceling
Some paid Google AI plans include Google One storage. If you are using that storage for Gmail, Drive, or Photos, make sure canceling will not leave your account over quota.
Downgrade instead of canceling
If Google AI Ultra is too expensive but you still want paid Gemini, look for a Downgrade option that moves you to Google AI Pro rather than canceling entirely.
Family plans require the owner
If the plan is shared through Google One family sharing, only the family manager or plan owner can cancel the membership. Other members can leave the group but cannot cancel the plan.
