Chrome Autofill normally fills names, addresses, payment cards, and other form details as soon as you click into a compatible field. When suggestions stop appearing, the cause is usually a disabled setting, missing saved information, an extension conflict, or a website that blocks autofill on purpose.

Use this for Google Chrome on Windows or Mac when form details no longer appear automatically. Password autofill uses related settings, but saved passwords are controlled separately from addresses and payment methods.
Check autofill is turned on and your information is saved
Start with the settings and saved entries because this fixes most cases.
- Type chrome://settings/autofill in the address bar and press Enter.
- Open Addresses and more, then make sure the main switch is on.
- Confirm an address is actually saved. If the list is empty, click Add and enter the details manually.
- Open Payment methods and turn on Save and fill payment methods.
- Make sure a card is listed if you expect card autofill.
- Open Passwords if you also want sign-in fields filled, then confirm Offer to save passwords and Auto Sign-in are enabled.
If Chrome updated recently, recheck these switches. Autofill settings can look fine at first glance while a specific address, card, or password option is off.
Check whether the website is blocking autofill
Some forms, especially payment and security-sensitive forms, are coded in ways that limit browser autofill.
- Click directly into the form field and type the first letter or two of the information you expect Chrome to suggest.
- Right-click the field and look for Autofill or password suggestions in the menu.
- Test Autofill on a different trusted site, such as another checkout form or account signup page.
- If Autofill works elsewhere, the original site is the issue rather than Chrome.
Clear and reset autofill data
Use this when a saved entry is old, duplicated, corrupted, or refuses to update.
- Return to chrome://settings/autofill.
- Open Addresses and more or Payment methods.
- Use the three-dot menu beside the outdated entry and remove it.
- Add the correct information again.
- If Autofill still does not respond, open chrome://settings/reset and restore settings to their original defaults.
- Restart Chrome and test a form again.
More control
Check password manager extensions
A dedicated password manager can take over Autofill from Chrome. That is normal, but if the extension is glitching it may also suppress Chrome suggestions. Temporarily disable the extension from chrome://extensions and test Chrome Autofill again.
Review sync if information is missing on one device
If addresses or cards appear on one computer but not another, check Chrome sync and make sure Addresses and more, Payment methods, and related form data are included.
Remove old typed form suggestions
Chrome may remember old form entries outside your saved address card. Open Delete browsing data under Privacy and security and include Autofill form data if you want to clear those older suggestions.
