- If you print far more or far fewer pages than the plan includes, review upgrade or downgrade options for the next cycle.
Cancel HP Instant Ink
You can cancel the subscription, though HP+ printer features and cartridge rules may be separate.
- Sign in to HP Instant Ink through HP Smart or the website.
- Open Account or Subscription settings.
- Choose Cancel enrollment or the cancellation option available in your region.
- Follow confirmation steps and read cartridge return instructions.
- After cancellation, buy standard ink or toner separately.
More control
Rollover pages have caps
Unused pages can roll over as a buffer for busier months, but they do not accumulate forever.
Extra pages usually cost extra, not block printing
Printing beyond the plan often triggers an automatic charge for a block of extra pages instead of stopping mid-job.
Instant Ink cartridges are subscription cartridges
HP may ask you to return cartridges supplied through the program because they were part of the subscription, not a normal retail purchase.
HP+ is related but not identical
HP+ may require internet-connected features and original HP supplies on some models. Canceling Instant Ink does not necessarily cancel every HP+ condition.
When it saves money
Instant Ink can be good for regular color printing because every page counts the same. Very light users may spend less buying occasional cartridges.
