A printer IP address is the number that identifies the printer on your local network, such as 192.168.1.45. You may need it to add the printer manually, open the printer web settings page, or troubleshoot discovery problems.

Use this guide if a setup wizard asks for the printer IP address or if automatic printer search cannot find the device.
Find it directly on the printer
This is the most reliable method because the address comes from the printer itself.
- On printers with screens, open the Wi-Fi, network, or status menu.
- Look under Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Status, TCP/IP, or a similar page.
- On printers without screens, print a network configuration report using the model-specific button combination.
- Read the printed report and look for IP Address or TCP/IP.
Find it from Windows or Mac
Use this when the printer is already installed.
- On Windows, open Printers & scanners, select the printer, open Printer properties, and check the Ports tab for the address or WSD/TCP/IP port.
- On Mac, open Printers & Scanners, select the printer, and check Options & Supplies or printer utility details.
- If macOS does not show it clearly, use the router connected-device list instead.
Find it through the router
This works even before the printer is installed on the computer, as long as it is on the network.
- Open the router admin page, often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
- Log in with router admin credentials, not the Wi-Fi password unless your router uses the same value.
- Open Connected Devices, Attached Devices, or DHCP Client List.
- Find the printer by brand or model name and note the IP address.
