A normal screenshot captures only what is visible right now. A scrolling screenshot captures more of the page as it moves down and stitches the result into one tall image.
These steps apply to Android 12 through Android 15 on Samsung Galaxy, Pixel, Motorola, and other phones with native scrolling screenshot support.

Use this if you need one image of a long article, receipt, settings page, message thread, or webpage instead of several overlapping screenshots.
Take a Scrolling Screenshot on Samsung Galaxy
- Take a normal screenshot with Power or Side key plus Volume down, or with Palm swipe if enabled.
- Wait for the screenshot toolbar to appear.
- Tap the Scroll capture icon, usually a downward arrow with lines.
- Tap again to keep extending the capture, or hold the icon on supported versions.
- Stop when you have enough of the page.
- Find the final long image in Gallery with your other screenshots.
Take a Scrolling Screenshot on Pixel
- Take a normal screenshot with Power plus Volume down.
- Tap Capture more on the preview.
- Adjust the captured area if Android shows a crop-style preview.
- Tap Save when the long screenshot includes what you need.
What If Capture More Does Not Appear?
Native scrolling screenshots depend on the phone maker, Android version, app, and screen type. If Capture more or Scroll capture is missing, update the phone first. On Motorola and other near-stock phones, the Pixel-style Capture more option is the usual method when supported.
Use Third-Party Apps Carefully
Some Play Store apps can stitch screenshots or use accessibility permissions to capture long pages. Read reviews and permissions carefully. Accessibility access is powerful and should make sense for the app function.
Screenshot Blocking Is Usually Intentional
Banking, payment, streaming, and secure work apps may block screenshots or show a black image. If the problem happens only in one protected app, Android is usually respecting that app security policy.
