The Passwords app brings saved website logins, app passwords, passkeys, verification codes, Wi-Fi passwords, and security recommendations into one dedicated place. Items previously saved in iCloud Keychain appear there automatically when you update to iOS 18 or later.
Passwords requires iOS 18 or later. On older iPhones, similar saved-login controls are under Settings > Passwords.
Does This Affect You?
Use Passwords if your saved logins feel scattered between Safari, Settings, and memory. It is also where iPhone warns you about weak, reused, or compromised passwords so you can replace them before they cause trouble.
Open and Browse Saved Passwords
- Open the Passwords app.
- Unlock with Face ID, Touch ID, or your iPhone passcode.
- Use categories such as All, Passkeys, Wi-Fi, and Verification Codes.
- Search for a website, app, or account name if the list is long.
- Tap an entry to see its username, password, passkey, notes, or related details.
- Tap the password field if you need to reveal or copy it.
Anyone who can unlock your iPhone and pass the app authentication may be able to view saved passwords, so keep your passcode private and avoid sharing device access casually.
Add or Edit a Password
- Open Passwords.
- Tap the plus button.
- Enter the website or app, username, and password.
- Use Suggest Strong Password if you want iPhone to create a stronger password for you.
- Tap Save.
- To change an existing item, open it, tap Edit, update the fields, and save the change.
When you create or update a login, iPhone can autofill it later in Safari and supported apps after you authenticate.
Check Weak, Reused, or Leaked Passwords
- Open Passwords.
- Go to Security or Recommendations, depending on the iOS wording.
- Review entries flagged as weak, reused, or involved in a known data leak.
- Tap an affected login.
- Use Change Password on Website when available, then save the new password back to Passwords.
Start with reused and leaked passwords first. A reused password can put multiple accounts at risk if one website has a breach.

Wi-Fi Passwords
Saved Wi-Fi networks appear in the Wi-Fi category, where you can view or share network passwords with another Apple device or a trusted family member.
Shared Groups
Shared Groups let a household or small team keep selected passwords available to approved members without texting or emailing passwords around.
Verification Codes
The app can store two-factor authentication codes for supported accounts, so codes can autofill during sign-in just like saved passwords.
